12th International Fashion Week, Athens Xclusive Designers Week will take place on October 20th-23rd at Ethniki Asfalistiki Conference Center presenting the proposals of established Greek designers for Spring - Summer 2013.
Since 2007, AXDW supports and promotes Greek fashion within and across borders. Having developed a unique platform that has evolved over the years, the organization has provided unique opportunities to Greek designers - established and new - to emerge in Greece and abroad. Since its inception, Athens Xclusive Designers Week has hosted a series of legendary fashion houses - from Krizia and Barbara Bui to Emanuel Ungaro and Vivienne Westwood - who chose the organization to present their collections in the Greek market. Also, there are celebrities from the international jet set who have participated in the organisation: Nicky Hilton, Tara Reid, Boy George are some of them. Even in this difficult socio-economic status which is established in our country and challenging the fashion industry, AXDW remains, grows and continues to fulfill its mission: to export Greek fashion in the world.
This mission is reflected in the campaign of this season's event, with the main message "Athens Xclusive Designers Week, a fashion icon since 2007", sealing the confidence of the designers that have participated all these years and giving a breath of optimism for the future of Greek fashion.
This time at 12th AXDW, 24 Greek designers, among them established names of fashion and new emerging talents with innovative ideas, will present their unique collections for Spring/Summer 2013.
Specifically, the participant designers are:
Aslanis: Michalis Aslanis after "the dance of decades" in summer 2012, takes part in 12th AXDW and presents the dance for winter 2012/13. The collection includes clothes from all decades, with the designer's style characterized mainly by the ethnological element referring mainly to Greece. Michalis Aslanis has presented his work abroad in many countries including Italy, Sicily, Canada, Russia, Turkey, Monte Carlo and many times in Cyprus.
Makis Tselios: Makis Tselios having left his mark in the fashion industry will participate in the 12th AXDW presenting a collection that covers all the needs of modern women. The popular designer works with major industries in the area of clothing and accessories and creates unique product ranges available in many shops in Greece and abroad.
Miltos: Miltos after 10 participations at AXDW, continues to charm with the elegance and femininity that characterize his creations. The "all time classic" element of his new collection is refuted by modern references found in the concept of the show.
Celebrity Skin: Within few years the avant garde duo Celebrity Skin, has been known for the lyricism of their clothes and is the favorite brand of many celebrities like Eleanora Zouganeli, Kariofyllia Karabeti, Ada Livitsanou, Memos Begnis etc.
Stelios Koudounaris: The Cypriot designer presents for 7th time his unique creations in AXDW. With 10 women and 3 men's collections in his portfolio, Stelios Koudounaris is the favorite designer of Greek showbiz. Helen Foureira, Despina Vandi, Tamta, Dimos Anastasiadis, Zeta Makripoulia, Katerina Lehou, Dukissa Nomikou are just some of the artists who choose his creations for their public appearances.
Ratt by Rita Attalla: After 4 amazing collections, Rita presents for 5th time at AXDW, creations full of style. Rita Attalla having won the impressions after a series of stunning collections, at 12th AXDW is going to show unique creations for next summer full of style and colors and with the polymorphic element that has made her to stand out.
Panos Apergis: Panos Apergis is a new designer with fashion knowledge and creative imagination, with constant presence in press, cinema, television, and extensive experience in the creation and management of large shopping and fashion ateliers.
Paris Valtadoros: Paris Valtadoros having a great experience on styling, the last years has created his own collection which is available exclusively at his boutique at Kolonaki.
Rita Pateroni: The house of Rita Pateroni which has a 30 years presence in fashion industry, presents its new collection at 12th AXDW. Its' all time classic creations, fit to women with opinion, who know and appreciate the quality while their belief is that elegance is part of everyday life.
Asel & Eleonora: Asel & Eleonora having won the award for "Best Trendsetter" at 8th AXDW, present for 5th time trendy creations that showcase the feminine silhouette.
For one more season, AXDW dedicates a whole day at New Designers Awards! The 2nd day of AXDW, October 21st, is dedicated to new designers and 14 new designers will present their SS2013 collections claiming a place in the fashion industry with AXDW by their side.
The 11 new designers which will compete in order to win 1 out of the 3 awards Best Catwalk, Best Trendsetter, Best New Designer, are:
Carmen Emanouela Popa, E.L.R by Irene Lytra, Eleni Kyriacou, F.A.K.E. couture by e-outfit.com, inSomniac by Spiros Stefanoudakis, Pixie Mud Designers, Polinα Argyrou, Runway by Manos Caravlidis, Stylianos, Victoria Sarri by Fashion Erotokritos,Yura Tsu.
The fashion shows will be completed by H-era, Nasos Ntotsikas & Lila Nova who are the winners of last year awards "Best Catwalk", "Best Trendsetter" and "Best New Designer". The participants who will compete at New Designers Awards will be judged by fashion editors, buyers and established designers while they will have the opportunity to win 3 unique awards for their career - "Best New Designer, "Best Trendsetter by MTV", "Best Catwalk" - at a fabulous ceremony which will complete the evening.
The Xclusive Boutique will take place at 12th AXDW with AXDW designers' collections! At a specially designed venue, branded creations will be available exclusively for the guests of the event in amazing prices!
The makeup of 12th AXDW was directed once again by the French brand of professional make up MAKE UP FOR EVER exclusively available at SEPHORA. AXDW was pleased to host the head make up artists of MAKE UP FOR EVER from Paris who along with the Greek make up artist Emmanuel Apostolakis, directed the make up for the fashion shows of the event, giving an impressive result at catwalk looks.
All days of the event Dj sets by radio stations VFM & BEST Radio will provide the musical rhythm to this great "celebration" of fashion!
The hotest meeting point will be the café of Douwe Egberts with cold and hot instant coffee and espresso for all tastes!
On the last day of the event, Tuesday October 23rd, there will be a unique "Meet the Designers Closing Party" dedicated to Greek fashion while guests will have the opportunity to get to know the designers and enjoy a Cointreaupolitan welcome drink.
